McDonald’s is completing a collaboration with IBM on the use of artificial intelligence. The technology, which has been used in more than 100 restaurants since 2021, was designed to speed up service, but it gave out too many errors, Restaurant Business writes.

Artificial intelligence in the restaurant chain made mistakes. For example, he could add bacon to an ice cream cone, include nine drinks in the order instead of one, or bill huge bills for nuggets. AI will be disabled in all restaurants no later than July 26, 2024.

According to The Verge, Google is being considered as a potential partner, which is now successfully cooperating with the Wendy’s restaurant chain. McDonald’s will also continue its course towards automation, introducing more self-service outlets, free delivery and tools for hiring employees using artificial intelligence.

It is reported that fast food restaurants in general are in need of artificial intelligence. For example, the American burger chain White Castle is testing artificial intelligence speech recognition technology from Sound Hound. Carl’s Jr. network uses an artificial intelligence chatbot that helps manage remote employees.
